Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Here are some of the questions people ask me the most...

"What is the design process?"

First, I ask you a TON of questions about your project and the vision you have for it. Any design elements or ideas you may have or if you have any examples you'd like me to draw inspiration from. Once I have all the information I need, I'll begin working. I'll have your first draft(s) ready within the discussed time-frame. We'll discuss the design and changes you may want me to make. Depending on whether you're satisfied with the product or not, I'll get to work on your next revision round or I'll send over the final deliverables.

"How long does an average project take?"

Usually double the estimated time it'll take to have the first draft(s) back to you, depending on the number of revisions requested.

"How is your work different from other designers?"

Many designers create designs from premade shapes, designs, or templates. My work is custom and is created to be unique to your project/business. I take the time to understand you and your business so that I can create designs that relay your hard work and dedication to the people you work with. Designs that make you stand out from the competition and instill trust in your clients.

"What design software do you use?"

I'm proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, & GIMP.

"When do I pay?"

You pay 50% of the project cost upfront and the remaining 50% after you approve of the final draft(s), then you'll receive your deliverables soon after paying the final invoice. If it's a big project and we're working step-by-step (eg. create the logo first, then the business cards, then the website) you'll pay the upfront 50% cost for whichever step we're currently working on, then the remaining 50% after your approval of the final design for that step. Then we'd move on to the next step and repeat until the project is complete. All payments made are final.

"What will i need to have ready when coming to you to build a website?"

Of course, every website project will be different, but here's a general overview of what I'll need from you...
- Navigation: What page names for your menu bar? For example: "about us", "services", "contact" etc.?
- Images: Attach any images you would like included. Or, I can add stock images.
- Text: I'll need all the text that you plan on using for your website.
- Creative Vision: Colors, fonts, & styles? Share one or several live website examples that reflect the look & feel you'd like to achieve.

"What do you feel is most important to make sure the work gets done efficiently?"

Quick responses. The project will go by quicker and more efficiently if you respond sooner than later. The sooner you respond to my messages, the sooner I can get to work on your project.
